Islah and GPC in non-Joint Meeting

Interesting. Could be benign – nothing more than GPC trying to create suspicion. Then again, there have been renewed reports lately of the Saleh/al-Ahmar coalition being repackaged.

Almotamar.net – Member of the General Committee, the Head of the Political Office of the General People’s Congress (GPC) ruling party Abdullah Ahmed Ghanim revealed Monday about an undeclared dialogue between the GPC and the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah) party, separately from the rest of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) grouping members.

Funny part: “agreed on pursuing dialogue…by the end of the month.” They just ain’t ready yet.

Political parties hold meeting on Saleh constitutional changes

SANA’A,  (Saba)- Some political parties held on Wednesday a meeting to discuss initiative of President Ali Abdullah Saleh over constitutional amendments.

The participants considered shifting into local ruling is a good step towards extending popular participation, affirming the importance of changing law of organizing activities of political parties.

They agreed on pursuing dialogue among political parties by the end of this month.

Participants expressed congratulations for the Yemeni people on the occasion of the advent of Eid al-Fitr and the 44th anniversary of 14th October Revolution.
